Mr. Bezbaruah is a Retired Secretary of Ministry of Tourism India. Currently he is Secretary General of Hotel Association of India and also honorary Permanent Representative of UNWTO. He was also Chairman, Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) and member of the UNWTO Strategic Group.
He has almost three decades of experience in national and international tourism management and policy planning, including being Consultant to ADB, UNWTO, Hewitt Associates, Tourism Intelligence International etc. He has authored three books on tourism, is the Chef Editor of five-volume Encyclopaedia on “Fairs and Festivals of India” and have written innumerable articles on tourism. He has MA (Economics) degree from Delhi School of Economics and Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from Harvard University.
